Sarah's school has been undergoing continual work since last summer, centred around seismic upgrades.
Today Sarah and I went to the park at the school and watched her old classroom being demolished.
Her school is comprised of several attached buildings. The northernmost building was undergoing today's work. Oddly, only about the northernmost two thirds were being demolished - the remainder had been artfully distanced from the rest.
We watched a massive claw tear into the roof, swipe downwards, and occasionally swing sideways to knock apart a wall, while the proceedings were sprayed with a fire hose to reduce dust.
