Sea Walk

We had another completely cloudless day today, so Sarah and I walked (well, she scootered) on the sea walk path around Stanley Park. I brought a camera and these are some of the better pictures.

Renie Freedman here;
Michael what is the stone structure Sarah is sitting in front of? It looks like the inukshuk Mitchell and I saw in Eastern Canada this past spring.

Hi Renie. This is also an Inukshuk. The inscription in front of it reads: "This ancient symbol of the Inuit culture is traditionally used as a landmark and navigational aid and also represents northern hospitality and friendship. Constructed of grey granite by Alvin Kanak of Rankin Inlet, this monument was commissioned by The Government of the Northwest Territories for its Pavilion at EXPO 86 and later given to the City of Vancouver. In 1987, the Unukshuk was moved to this site and sponsored as a gift to the City by Coast Hotels & Resorts through the Vancouver Legacies Program."
